Need: 8oz self raising flour, 2oz butter (room temp), 1 oz sugar, 2 oz raisins/berries/chopped dates, 2 eggs, little milk to bind


200g flour+2 tspn of baking powder, 50g butter, 25 g sugar, 25g of berries, 2 eggs, little milk to bind

1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C.

2. Weigh out the flour and sugar in a mixing bowl and add the baking powder.

3. Stir well with a fork so it mixes well.

4. Add the butter and make into a crumbly mixture with your hands.

5. Crack open and add one egg and mix well.

6. Add the berries and a little milk so it can bind and form a dough.

7. Roll out on a floured surface and cut into scones.

8. Place on a baking sheet and brush the tops with egg wash or milk.

9. Turn the oven down to 180°C and back for 10-15 minutes until golden.
